Donnington Grove

Donnington Grove is billed as one of Newbury’s best kept secrets and our undercover reporter is on a mission to tell everyone about it. The gothic mansion house and extraordinary views across the lake means an easy day for your photographer. The Vineyard

The Vineyard is the perfect wedding venue for those with an unlimited budget and incredibly good taste. The Vineyard has a Michelin starred restaurant, 5 star service and incredible spa facilities. If you’re looking for the perfect location to match your perfect day, you need not look any further than the Vineyard.

Newbury Racecourse

Newbury Racecourse is not often at the top of peoples idea as the perfect wedding venue, however as our reporter recently experienced; it is perfect for larger weddings. Our reporter attended an Indian wedding that had around 500 guests, all of whom enjoyed a spectacular day and impressive food. Venues for larger events are quite rare in the Newbury and Berkshire area, so if this is something you’re considering, don’t forget to put Newbury Racecourse on your shortlist.

Shaw House

Shaw House recently took over as the official registry office in Newbury, and not before time. The 400 year old mansion makes for a fantastic setting, which really adds a spark of magic to your big day. The registrars are experienced and used to dealing with multiple weddings in a day, so you can be sure that your day will go without a hitch (except for you getting hitched of course).

Highclere Castle

Highclere Castle has been home to a number of celebrity weddings in recent years, most notably Jordan and Saint Peter; although don’t allow this to put you off. This venue is faultless and rich in history, in every direction you’ll find original works of art and old school opulence. What struck our reporter most about this location was its flexibility; whether you have 20 guests or 200 guests there is a room within the castle that will be perfect. Best of all, Highclere is already used to hosting large scale weddings, so you can be sure that you’re in safe hands if you decide on this location.
